Membership is based on dipsplay of four qualities, Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.

Scholarship
Scholarship means a dedication to education, and is essentially knowledge acquired by study.  However, to be a scholar and scholarly is much more.  A scholarly pupil is prepared to read, write, study, and strive to achieve all goals in life.  And influential scholar should continue the journey of learning all throughout life because knowledge only fades away when one chooses it to.  So therefore, an NHS scholar’s knowledge will continue to grow ling after they are gone due to the influence left on others.
-Jegnasha Patel

Service
Service is defined as a contribution to the welfare of others, in the National Honor Society, service is the main purpose of the club.  As honor students we come together to help our school and community through serving each other.
-Neil Bramblett

Leadership
Most people fall into one of two categories, either a leader or a follower.  Webster defines a leader as a person who guides or directs by influence and persuasion.  A true leader leads with not only their words, but their actions as well.  In the words of Andrew Carnegie, “The older I get the less I listen to what people say and the more I look at what they do.”
-Jacob Pilgrim

National Honor Society Pledge
I, being aware of the honor which is being bestowed upon me
By my election to membership in the National Honor Society
Do hereby pledge my loyalty to this organization.
It shall be my earnest purpose
To give unsparingly of my time and energy toward the promotion of all school activities.
I will strive to be at all times a model student,
And will never knowingly
Bring reproach upon my school.  I pledge myself
To uphold the high purpose of this society
To which I have been elected,
Striving in every way
By word and deed
To make its ideals
The ideals of my school and of my life.
