DECEMBER/CHRISTMAS BREAK
Angel Tree
*In all, we took three children a set of gifts for Christmas. This is just one of the ways we reach out into the community and see how we can affect the lives of our neighbors. If it were not for your help, they would not have had a Christmas like we were able to give them.
DECEMBER 7th
Farewell Assembly
*The assembly for Officer Roberts was a complete success. It was obvious that the student body was behind what we did to wish our hometown hero farewell as he left for his tour of duty. The speech from Sgt. Blaylock was very thoughtful, and his time was greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who helped make this day special for him and his family.
NOVEMBER 20th
Food Basket delivered to underprivileged family
*Thanks to all who helped with the Thanksgiving food basket. The family really appreciated us thinking about them at this time pf year. Mrs. Silver has an email that was sent from the counselor at McHenry if you would like to read it.
In all, we took over three large boxes worth of food. This was plenty for them to enjoy multiple meals. This is just one of the ways we reach out into the community and see how we all can affect the lives of our neighbors.
OCTOBER 30th
Halloween Party
*Thanks to all who helped with the Halloween Party for the Rebecca Blaylock Child Care Center. The children really enjoyed all the food and entertainment. There is a card that was sent to us from the children in Mrs. Silver’s room if anyone would like to see it.
Along with throwing the party, we took the dragon for them to interact with. Each child was also left with a goodie bag for early Trick-or-Treating. It was a great time for them to see how much they are truly cared for.
This is just one of the ways we reach out into the community and see how we all can affect the lives of our neighbors. The smile on each child’s face was truly a blessing.
SEPTEMBER 28th
Car wash to benefit St. Jude
*The car wash on September 28 was a complete success. Thanks to all who helped. Both groups worked long and hard, and ended up washing more cars than expected.
In all we will give nearly $400 to St. Jude’s Children Hospital. We know they will be very grateful for this act of kindness.
If you were unable to attend, please collect at least a $10 donation from friends or family members and give to Mrs. Silver as soon as possible. Receipts from St. Jude’s are available for tax purposes.
