Georgia Highlands representative will be at PHS on Monday, October 19 @ 10:00.   Students interested in speaking with her should come by the guidance office to sign up.

West Georgia College representative will be at PHS on Thursday, October 1 @ 10:30.  Students interested in West Georgia should sign up in the guidance office.

PSAT

The PSAT (Pre-SAT Test) will be given on Wednesday, October 14.   This test is for college prep 10th graders - space is limited - SIGN UP in the guidance office as soon as possible.  Juniors who wish to participate in the National Merit Scholarship program should also sign up to take the test.  Cost for Juniors is $13.00.  Sign up with Mrs. Sheffield in guidance.  Only 11th graders are eligible for consideration in the PSAT/NMSQT program.   See Mrs. Perry for more details.

PROBE Fair

This annual college fair will be held on October 22 at the Forum from 9:00 - 10:30 am.    See Mrs. Perry for more information.

Scholarship Opportunities Now Available:

PHS Seniors:

The 2009 Wendy's High School Heisman application is now available at www.wendysheisman.com. Any eligible student can register and begin the application process now.  This year, we want to hear from all student athletes who work hard, are dedicated, and have become role models for your school's underclassmen!  Eligibility for the application is limited exclusively to students who will be in their senior year of high school during the 2009-2010 academic year. They must have at least a "B" grade average and participate in at least one of the 28 school-sponsored sports listed in the Wendy's High School Heisman application.  The application submission deadline for students is 5:00 p.m., central time, on October 1, 2009.
